There's nothing more uncomfortable than dry skin. It's sensitive. It cracks easily. It just doesn't feel good. If this sounds like you, your skin lacks one major thing: moisture. Without proper moisture, your skin is at risk of aging faster. Here are a few things you can do to help.
Get the right type of face wash
Opt for face wash that's specifically made for dry skin. Those containing jojoba oil, activated charcoal, or aloe vera are a plus. You'll also want to avoid anything that mentions exfoliation.
Switch up your moisturizers
What you use in the morning should be different from the moisturizer you use at night. Morning moisturizers should be light and contain protection from the sun. Night time moisturizers need to be heavier and thicker.
Try serum
Serum is all the rave these days, but – trendy or not – it actually has some amazing properties that dry skin could benefit from. Serums should be applied between washing and moisturizing and, just like moisturizers, should be different in the AM and the PM. Try vitamin C serum in the day and vitamin A before bed.
