Going bald may be the trend, but some may prefer to keep their hair. If going bald is a potential issue you could face, there are natural oils, supplements, and medications to stop it from happening and regrow any hair you've already lost.
Natural Oils
In a previous post, we share five oils to use if you want to go the natural route.
Supplements
Biotin (strengthens hair)
Vitamins A and C (sebum oil production to reduce dry, brittle hair)
Zinc and Selenium (healthy scalp)
Folic Acid or B9 (tissue regrowth and improved circulation of hair follicles)
Medications
Finasteride (or Propecia) can be prescribed by your doctor. Not only does it help prevent balding, but this once-a-day pill can actually help regrow hair. The downfall to this medication is that once you stop taking it, the problem will persist.
Minoxidil (or Rogaine) can be purchased without a prescription and is a bit stronger than Finasteride, however you can use both medications at the same time. Minoxidil is a foam that's applied twice a day and result aren't immediate. It can take about four months before you start to see regrowth.
Nizoral is another option and comes as a shampoo that you use three times a week. You can use this right along with Finasteride and Minoxidil. There are two versions: the 1% which can be found over-the-counter and the 2% is available with a prescription.
